Sampled 15,625 Hz IF with SpectrumLab and to calculate the offset from the dial frequency. Method: HP3586 referenced to Trimble Thunderbolt. Could not hear 160 meter transmission at all. Method: FlexRadio 6700 with GPSDO and FLDigi on FMT frequency with one panadapter while using Spectrum Lab on WWV frequencies of 5 MHz and May have to consider putting up a 'real' 160m antenna. Setup can easily detect a -135 dBm signal at the radio input, but nothing was seen on the Spectrum Lab waterfall when listening on 160m for the FMT signal. Soapbox: Good signals on 40m & 80m, but very disappointing that no signal was seen/heard on 160m. Tuned synthesizer to match appearance of key-down signal on Spectrum Lab waterfall. Thunderbolt GPSDO 10 MHz was fed into external ref. After key down period, switched radio input to HP 3335A frequency synthesizer output (through 100 dB of attenuation). Method: W5GI dipole to IC-7000 SignaLink interface to laptop running Spectrum Lab. Soapbox: EN82sx Signal levels in dBm, all measured on the same vertical antenna: 40 meter -20 Noise Floor -70, 80 meter -20 Noise Floor -60, 160 meter -40 Noise Floor -70. Antenna: ground-mounted vertical 10 meters high. I used a TAPR TADD-2 connected to the GPSDO and receiver as a marker generator to check for DDS tuning word and sound card errors. I played the file back in PowerSDR and ran Spectrum Lab, noting the offset from the HPSDR frequency. I offset the HPSDR frequency about 500 Hz to make a tone with the HPSDR BFO, used PowerSDR to make a wave file. Method: I used Open HPSDR (Mercury), Flex-Radio's PowerSDR, Trimble Thunderbolt GPSDO, and Spectrum Lab. Soapbox: 40M/80M good copy, 160M weak but readable. This time I also ran Fldigi concurrently in analysis mode for additional spreadsheet data. wav file through SpecLab, and at a later time replayed to export data to spreadsheet to refine submission numbers. Method: HP Z3805A 10MHz GPSDO, Marconi 2019 HF synth, HP 3325A LF synth, HP 54601A o'scope, FT-847 in AM/narrow mode, 5BTV and 80M/40M dipole antennas, Vista laptop running SpecLab, DigiPan for spotting, EZGPIB controlling Prologix USB-GPIB to set up and interrogate instruments, GPSCon for monitoring Z3805A the 2019 was set to inject a referenceīeat signal to produce a ~400Hz beat tone, and the 3325A was tuned for minimum phase slip between it and the beat tone.
